August 2020

Winter is just about complete. Have been trimming a lot of plants that have already begun their Spring growth. Potting up more succulents and about to make some more cacti cuts ready to pot up in a couple of weeks. Welding more garden ornaments in readiness for the markets and garden visits. Aloes have been continually flowering throughout the winter months. Have still got a lot of different Aloes to flower yet. Birds are absolutely loving every bit of nectar from the Aloes. Honeyeaters and Watttlebirds especially. Over the next few weeks there will be a lot of new growth as the daily temperatures slowly rise. Birds in the aviary are beginning to go crazy building new nests and having some fun! Hopefully will see lots of chicks in the Spring. Whilst it is cold outside, it is so relaxing sitting inside in the living area and gazing through the windows into the aviary watching the finches, canaries and small parrots enjoying life.
